Maori

The Maori® is also known as the enigmatic Maori because of its mysterious origin. Although this plant is claimed to originate from the Hawaiian Islands, this origin has never been confirmed, and no one even knows the exact location of these islands. We believe that the Maori® is an exceptionally fascinating plant, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use!

Discover

Maori

Under our Maori® label, we sell the Corokia (Silver & Green) and the Sophora prostrata 'Little Baby'. These special plants have in common that they are native to New Zealand. The special shrubs are therefore named after the first inhabitants of New Zealand, the Maori.

Care tips

Both Corokia Green and Corokia Silver require the same care. Provide a light location, not too dark, because in low light it will lose a lot of leaves. The plant can tolerate a little frost, but bring it inside in time if you put it outside. The Corokia can be placed outdoors as well as indoors. Water the Corokia weekly, but keep excess water away from the roots. In the winter period, you can keep the plant a little drier. You can easily prune the Corokia if it has become too "wild," this is to taste and not necessary in the growth process. Every two years, give the plant a little more space by repotting it to a slightly larger pot to enjoy the plant for a long time!

Sophora prostrata 'Little Baby'
Care tips

With the Sophora, make sure it has a light location indoors or outdoors. The plant can tolerate some frost, but in severe frosts it is better to overwinter it indoors. Water it weekly, but make sure the plant does not get soaked in water. Remove excess water or provide good drainage in the pot. Trimming is not necessary, but can be done in the summer if necessary to keep the Sophora in a nice shape.
